Rihab Alloula

Rihab Alloula

Rihab Alloula, daughter of Abdelkader Alloula, grew up in the theater world alongside her cousin Jamil. Since 2001, she has been involved in several different troupes. With El-Ajouad, she acted in Alloula’s Jehloul Lefhaymi (under the direction of Arnaud Meunier, and in collaboration with La Mauvaise Graine). She toured with Alloula’s play El-Lithem (The Veil) during the Year of Algeria in France in 2003. Her acting credits also include Homq Salim (with the Oran-based Ibdaa ensemble in collaboration with the Abdelkader Alloula Foundation), El Machina (The Machine) with El Gosto Theater, and El Afsa (The Clever Trick, in collaboration with La Grande Maison in Tlemcen). Rihab joined Istijmam in 2007 and has played lead roles in Et-Teffeh (Apples) and El-Ajouad (The Generous Ones). She was also involved with the French-Algerian-German project Yadra! Se souvenir pour construire (Remembering the past to construct the future) and with Istijmam’s series of improvisational workshops and tournaments called Improvisoo! With a degree in translation studies, she specializes in theatrical adaptations into Algerian Darija. She teaches at the University of Oran 2.
